Fancy Dress Competition @ Swarna Jyothi

Swarna Jyothi school organized fancy dress competitions for all the students to help the   
children to open up and be participative. Fancy dress competitions sometimes help parents 
to know thier child's hidden talent. Fancy Dress competitions are an exciting time for           
children , all children like to win competitions in school,but more than the prize,all win
hearts. Prize are for the parents for their effort in preparing the child, but actual prize is the
development of the child's confidence to face the public on Stage. 

Thanks to all the parents, children and Staffs of Swarna Jyothi for supporting this event.

Special thanks to our Judges Smt.Rajini Santosh and Smt.Bhagya. 

in-spite of their busy schedule they were able to take time and been part of this competition and made this event successful.

CELEBRATION OF ASHTA LAKSHMI PUJA @    SWARNA JYOTHI KIDS ZONE ON NOV 11TH 2015.



Ashtalakshmi - "Eight Lakshmis" , are a group of Eight Hindu Goddesses.

The Hindu goddess of wealth.


On Diwali, it is a custom among Hindus to worship Goddess Lakshmi. Lakshmi is the Goddess of wealth, richness and prosperity. It is quite well known that Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped to gain wealth.

Wealth comes in the form of money, vehicles, prosperity, courage, patience, health, knowledge and children

All of these are achieved by worshipping the eight forms of Goddess Lakshmi. 
The Ashta Lakshmi are all depicted seated on a lotus.
  • Adi Lakshmi : Four-armed, carries a lotus and a white flag, other two arms Abhaya mudra and Varada Mudra.
  • Aishwarya Lakshmi : Four-armed, carries two lotuses, other two arms in abhaya mudra and varada mudra.
  • Dhana Lakshmi : Six-armed,  carries Chakara (discus), shankha (conch), kalasha (water pitcher with mango leaves and a coconut on it) bow-arrow, a lotus and an arm in abhaya mudra with gold coins falling from it.
  • hanya Lakshmi : Eight-armed, carries two lotuses, gada (mace), paddy crop, sugarcane, bananas, other two hands in abhaya mudra and varada mudra. anD NAVA DHANYA in front of it.
  • Gaja Lakshmi : Four-armed, carries two lotuses, other two arms in abhaya mudra and varada mudra, surrounded by two elephants bathing her with water pots.
  • Santana Lakshmi : Six-armed, carries two kalashas (water pitcher with mango leaves and a coconut on it), sword, shield, a child on her lap, a hand in abhaya mudra and the other holding the child. The child holds a lotus.
  • Veera Lakshmi : Eight-armed, carries chakra, shankh, bow, arrow, trishul (or sword), a bundle of palm leaf scriptures, other two hands in abhaya mudra and varada mudra.
  • Vijaya Lakshmi : Eight-armed, carries chakra, shankh, sword, shield, lotus, pasha, other two hands in abhaya mudra and varada mudra.
