Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated as birth anniversary of Lord Ganesh. On Ganesh Chaturthi, Lord Ganesh is worshipped as the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune. It is believed that Lord Ganesh was born during Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. 

Ganesha is known by 108 different names and is the Lord of arts and sciences and the deva of wisdom. He is honoured at the start of rituals and ceremonies as he's considered the God of beginnings. He's widely and dearly referred to as 

Ganapati or Vinayaka.

One of the three national days, Independence Day holds a majestic significance in the history of the country. After facing the tyranny of British Raj for over 200 years, India got its freedom on August 15, 1947, with thousands of great leaders and freedom fighters rallying behind the common goal. Independence Day date is an important one in India as it is a reminder of when the country gained its freedom from the British Empire.
